The UN General Assembly commemorates the International Day of Innocent Child Victims of Aggression, which falls on June 4 of each year, with the aim of highlighting the suffering of children.
The Embassy’s Consul Counselor, His Excellency Mr. Dawood Jalloud, participated in the International Day of Innocent Child Victims of Aggression in a special event organized by the Advisor and Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for Child’s Rights and Children Rehabilitation, Daria Herasymchuk, in which the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, The Minister for Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba were participated, in addition to UN Resident Coordinator in Ukraine, Humanitarian Coordinator Denise Brown, heads and representatives of UN agencies in Ukraine, ambassadors and representatives of embassies and other diplomatic missions of other countries in Ukraine, ministers and representatives of the Office of the President of Ukraine, ministries and agencies.
Olena Zelenska addressed the international community, “help us save our children”, during the memorial ceremony for the dead children held in front of the World War II Memorial in Kyiv.
The attendees viewed the “Unwritten Books of Life” exhibition and also put toys at the “Martyrology of Children” location, honoring the memory of young Ukrainians who lost their lives.
