On September 23, 2021, H.E. Ambassador of Palestine to Ukraine Mr. Hashem Dajani, accompanied by his spouse, attended the opening of an art exhibition, which took place in the House of Artists in the city of Kyiv. About 110 Ukrainian artists took part in the exhibition, including the Palestinian artist Dr. Jamal Badwan with his 8 paintings, 7 of which depict the reality of Palestine under occupation, especially the issue of prisoners and their suffering.
On this occasion, Ambassador Dajani expressed his congratulations to Dr. Jamal Badwan, wishing him further success in his work and acknowledging his role in maintaining the positive image of the Palestinian people among the Ukrainian society.
It is worth noting, that Dr. Jamal Badwan originates from the village of Azzoun in the Qalqilya Governorate, Palestine. He attained his education in the United States and Russia. He has a Doctor of Arts degree and currently resides in Ukraine, bearing Ukrainian citizenship. The artist has organized a number of exhibitions in 33 countries under the same name – “Window to Palestine”. Each of the exhibitions is dedicated to a specific stage of Palestinian history and tells about the Palestinian issue through the prism of civilization.
