On November 28, 2021, in the framework of the cultural activities of the International Charitable Fund “Soniashnyk”, the head of the Fund Ms. Alla Gorbunova organized celebration on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, during which she expressed her best wishes for freedom, sovereignty, progress and prosperity to the Palestinian people. Ms. Alla Gorbunova also spoke about her group’s visit to Palestine and thanked the Palestinian side for the warm reception, expressing their desire to pay another visit to Palestine. Ms. Alla Gorbunova presented a medal and a certificate of appreciation to Ambassador Dajani and Mr. Hatem Odeh.
For his part, Ambassador Dajani thanked Ms. Alla Gorbunova for her important friendly initiative towards the Palestinian people and valued her efforts aimed at strengthening friendly relations and cultural cooperation with Palestine. In his brief speech, the Ambassador expressed his gratitude to Ukraine for its supportive position for peace, security and stability in the Middle East, noting that the Solidarity Day has been approved by the United Nations and is commemorated annually in order to focus the attention of the international community on the fact that the Question of Palestine remains unresolved and requires joint international efforts to end the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories, as well as establishing peace in the Middle East. The Ambassador also promised to arrange the visit of the group from the “Soniashnyk” fund to Palestine in the near future.
The ceremony was also attended by Mr. Hatem Odeh from the Palestinian community in Ukraine, who presented a certificate of appreciation to Ms. Alla Gorbunova. The ceremony also included a presentation of a short film about Palestine and artistic performances.
