On March 10, 2026, Mr. Samir Abu-Kharoub, Head of the Administrative and Cultural Department of the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Ukraine, attended the presentation of the Arabic edition of “Kobzar” by the Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko. The book was translated by Lebanese translator and Ukrainian studies scholar Imadeddin Raef. The event was organized with the support of the General Directorate for Rendering Services to Diplomatic Missions (GDIP).
The program of the event included a screening of excerpts from the documentary film “Ukrainian Lebanon,” a presentation of the first monument to Kobzar in the Middle East located in the city of Beirut (considered the hundredth monument worldwide), as well as readings of poetic excerpts from Shevchenko’s works performed by students of Arabic studies from Kyiv National Linguistic University.
