Ambassadors and heads of missions of the Arab countries accredited to Ukraine met at the headquarters of the Embassy of Palestine in the capital of Ukraine, the city of Kyiv

On October 11, 2023, the ambassadors and heads of missions of the Arab countries accredited to Ukraine met at the headquarters of the Embassy of Palestine in the capital of Ukraine, the city of Kyiv, to discuss developments in the dangerous situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, especially since the League of Arab States will hold an emergency meeting today, Wednesday, at the level of foreign ministers, at the request of the State of Palestine, “in order to discuss ways of political action” at the Arab and international level, to stop the Israeli aggression on Gaza, provide international protection for the Palestinian people, and achieve peace and security based on international law, international legitimacy resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative.
 
They stressed their country’s position towards the Palestinian issue, and the necessity of exercising the utmost levels of restraint and avoiding exposing civilians to further risks, with the importance of immediate intervention to stop the ongoing escalation, urging Israel to stop attacks and provocative actions against the Palestinian people, and to adhere to the rules of international humanitarian law with regard to the responsibilities of the occupying state.
 
The meeting was attended by a group of ambassadors and charge d’affaires of Arab countries present in Ukraine, among which: the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Ambassador of the State of Libya, the Chargé d’Affaires of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Republic of Iraq, and the Chargé d’Affaires of the Republic of the Sudan.
