Ambassador Hashem Dajani, together with ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Ukraine, took part in the celebrations on the occasion of the Day of Ukrainian Statehood and the Baptism of Kyivan Rus.
The event was held on the square in front of the Assumption Cathedral on the territory of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra in Kyiv, with the participation of heads of Ukrainian churches and religious organizations, chaplains, representatives of the Verkhovna Rada and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the head of the Office of the President and his deputies, the leadership of the Security and Defense Forces, as well as foreign diplomats.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyi addressed the audience on the occasion of the holiday, and heads of Ukrainian churches and religious organizations prayed for a just peace and victory for Ukraine, as well as for protection and blessings for the Ukrainian people.
